I had an opportunity to be there to watch Daniela. After the first set I didn't know what to think. She looked empty. So she lost it. After some games of the second set I wasn't disappointed. I was angry at her. She seemed not to want to fight. Then suddenly something changed (maybe my "come on Daniela" just helped:P). For the rest of the set she had the game under control. The very last set was tiring for me. Daniela was better but she had problems to prove it. Some stupid mistakes and the fact she seemed that she couldn't run made me not want to watch it anymore. But finally, she did it!

Despite having the most important part of the match under control she didn't seem to feel confident. So much does she have to improve if she thinks of moving on. Congratulations on getting to the 2nd round anyway!:)

The end result is kinda disappointing considering Daniela's good recent performances on clay, but i guess it's good to see her getting a challenge regardless of the opponent before RG. I'm hopeful she'll be able to win her next match more convincingly. Does anyone have a recording of the match? I've been studying for uni... no hope of watching any live streams.

I can't believe the state of this draw. If it wasn't for Sharapova still floating around in the draw, i dare say there would be almost no draw card for it. I know Daniela's in it (for us, aha) but i guess the general population aren't going to be super enthused to go an see someone ranked as low as Daniela. Granted she belongs higher in the rankings. But as the tournament stands. There are almost no names in it.

I watched the 2nd set and the rubber set.

I changed the channel when Vives led the 2nd set 3-1. I was thinking Danka will lost this.
But I'm glad she proved me wrong.

Overall, very tense match and I'm happy she close the match at the 5th match point.
But Danke seems need to work more on her footwork.

I saw the third set and Daniela played pretty well in it. The commentators were saying that Daniela played poorly in the first set making a few UEs while Llagostera Vives played very well. Daniela had the ability to raise her level while LLagostera Vives could at best stay the same but was more likely to drop her level which is basically what happened. Daniela used dropshots very effectively in the third set as the ball would just stop dead on landing with hardly any bounce. Daniela also used moonballs and lots of topspin in the third quite a bit to get the ball above Llagostera Vives's hitting zone and get shorter balls to put away.
It helped that LLagostera Vives basically fell apart at 3-3 in the third with DFs and UEs but that was the pressure that Daniela was putting on her. Daniela was able to make tactical adjustments to win the match and that shows that she was thinking well and was able to change her gameplan and/or that Passos was able to give her good advice.
It's a nice win as Daniela was able to come from behind to win and was able to raise her level and make adjustments to win the match. She notched up another win which always helps with confidence.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Daniela's movement was terrible today(even by comparison). I wonder if the leg is still troubling her?

On the plus side,I really like what I saw of her serve-very fluid and putting the whole body into it rather than just rolling it in with the arm. Her groundstrokes also held up well under pressure in the 3rd set. Overall, thumbs up! :bounce:

if i am not mistaken, you esp player try there to watch it re-live.It's not there. The last tennis match they have is Madrid final. :(
I want to watch the match first and then read posts in this thread, so that my view on the match ain't influenced by other people's opinions.

I think Urszela will fight very hard against Daniela. It will be a very tough match - i hope Daniela will get through, even if I think it will be in 3 sets. Lots of points on offer in this tournament - clever decision by Daniela.

Wow - this next match is very important... she could get that seeding, obviously depending on withdrawals...
