Murray is out! It's some kind of sensation even though Verdasco has been playing (in my opinion) excelent tennis here! Haven't seen that match unfortunately, I cannot write much about it. I just have read some about but I'm not satisfied. Hope someone who was able to watch it is going to write some about the match.

Btw, Tsonga is on his way to qfs as he seems to be pretty much confident. Blake is struggling a lot, unfortunately I cannot see any chance for him.

it was so unfortunate that the heat got to Djokovic because that match was really tight and looked like it was going to continue that way! That being said Roddick was playing some great tennis. It was a little strange that the heat was such a factor, it was only about 33 degrees on court during the match, there have already been much warmer days and from the sounds of things the rest of the week will exceed that big time!
Tsonga was very impressive last night, he looked relaxed and like he was enjoying himself after a slower first 3 rounds and Verdasco was fairly impressive against Murray, what an up and down match that was for both players!!

Very typical of Djokovic in my oppinion. Probably saw that Roddick was playing well, and that he himself was not as his best and hadn't really recovered properly since his late night finish in his previous match, and so pulled out. I think the likes of Federer and Nadal would have continued playing.

I agree. That's whole Novak. But actually, I can excuse him of it. I have played a match having a fever once. What a terrible experience. We have to admit that it was very hot out there. It probably, along with a wonderful game of Andy, made him want to give up. Now he can tell himself he lost because of his sickness.

Despite his behaviour, I love watching his game:P Roddick is a great player. I wish him all the best.

All Djokovic needs to do now is quit at the US Open and he's got a career grand slam of quitting.
He had to do it against Roddick:

I would question Djokovic's preparation as he spent New Year in Serbia while most of the other players spent it in Australia or the Middle East to acclimatise to the hot conditions, which Djokovic gave himself less time to do. He had a round of golf before playing Gulbis in Brisbane, instead of a practice session, and that was his main warm-up tournament. He just didn't prepare well and it makes me wonder about his commitment and dedication.

Federer played awfully well against Del Potro, that was a total beasting.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

I already thought before the match that Andy will have great chances to beat Novak. Now it wasn't the great match that I expected because of the withdrawal of Novak.
Must have been a great match of Federer against Del Potro. Unfortunatelly I wasn't able ot watch as I had to work.

Now I think only Nadal has real chances to stop Federer of winning the next GS.

Great QF between Nadal and Simon.

Now SF Nadal-Verdasco. Will be interesting as Verdasco is in really great form, but IMO Nadal should win in straight sets. The H2H is 6:0 for Rafa.

2nd SF Federer-Roddick. I'm not quite sure after the last performance of Roger, if Andy will have a chance, but I think he well win at least one set. H2H 15:2 for Roger.

Murray had a love head to head with Verdasco aswell, but the Spaniard still managed to win, so who knows, maybe its Verdasco's time to win a really big match.
The Davis Cup has certainly done him good. Maybe the Fed Cup will have a similar effect on Daniela (if she plays that is).

I think Andy will be able to win this match against Roger if he defends his service game properly. I do think Andy should focus on more offensive netplay, though, he allows himself to get pushed behind the baseline sometimes.

Verdasco has been playing extremely well lately but that's all for him in this year's AO. Nadal is in a great form and he's gonna win it in straight sets to meet Roger in the final. That's my opinion. Roger seemed to be back in business here and Nadal with his unbelieveable shots are gonna make a brilliant play in Rod Laver Theatre on Sunday.

Comfortable enough win for Federer. He was always controlling the match and while Roddick gave a bit of resistance in the second & third sets, Federer was always the more threatening on return and eventually got the breakthrough.
I've got to say that Roddick made a great shot in the third set when he lined up what looked like a big groundstroke to the baseline but instead dropped the ball into the service box with it spinning sideways on landing. Great disguise and execution.

I think Verdasco's this year's Stepanek as both their women have been playing a lot worse since they got together. I hope Verdasco's relationship lasts a very long time.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.
