A wee bit of a surprise that Date Krumm beat Shazza but she played very well. Date Krumm won 17 of the last 21 points in the match so that's a very good win for her.

Daniela has played Date Krumm before so she'll know Date Krumm's style. This is a good opportunity for Daniela to go on a nice run here but Date Krumm's got to be respected as an opponent and she beat Daniela in their previous meeting. Date Krumm's just had a very good win against Shazza and she beat Pavlyuchenkova last week so she's in form and she'll be confident plus she'll have home support. Date Krumm's been competitive in most of her matches against the top players so it'll probably be a tough match.

you could upload it with filezilla to my server or megaupload for example.
Still, if it's on Eurosport, I'll record it anyway and make it available :)
its very likely that it will be shown I think. I hope there won't be the Stosur match

I think the win for Kimiko is a pretty big shock, but then Sharapova isn't the player she used to be by any means, and I don't know if she'll ever get back to her former heights. Her straight-sets loss to Azarenka in Stanford (although Azarenka played well), was a pretty good indicator that she's lost some of her edge. Then again if she were to win a grand slam next year it wouldn't be the biggest surprise the tennis world has ever seen...
As for Daniela, she certainly has a good chance of a third-round place. As previously commented Kimiko has had a longer first-round match, and will be playing two days in a row.
There's alot of points on offer here so it would be great for Daniela to get another win. And another plus point is that both of her potential third-round opponents are beatable aswell.
Given that she beat Kerber 6-3 6-3 I think she has a great chance of beating Kimiko, and if she were to get the win, against the Japanese number 1 on home soil, she'd certainly have alot of confidence going into the next stage of the tournament.

Good oppurtunity for Daniela to go quite deep into the tournament. Her first round result was encouraging, so you'd like her chances against Date Krumm. Fingers crossed as always.

6-2 first set for Daniela, led 5-1 but couldn't serve it out, unsurprisingly.

And now her games gone to pot. Sometimes I think daniela's better off losing the 1st set to force her to play better...

A complete catastrophe. Etcheberry has to be sacked pronto-I can't deal with Daniela being permanently crocked.

OMG, what happened?
She was on the verge of getting double bageled.

I understand she might be injured but I'm hearing she played awful in set 2 and the injury made it worse. How can she go from winning a set confortaby to suckage in the next one?

I really thought being in Japan, having Ai there and stuff would give her some incentive. She needs rest and a whole re-thinking of her on-court tactics, find a serve Danka.

Get better soon, gorgeous

This is desperately disappointing and also worrying. Daniela had a great opportunity but was hurt and had to withdraw. I hope that she's not too badly hurt.

I'm watching a reply right now and Daniela is playing really well in the first set, she's hitting the ball cleanly, dictating the points and hitting some great winners. I'm not sure I should bother with the next two sets. It's the start of the second set and Daniela's timing seems to have completely gone on her groundstrokes in the first game. Date Krumm's also hitting some good shots and angles.

I think Daniela has to reconsider her training as she's been picking up so many injuries and that's something that never happened to her in the past.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.
