0-15
0-30
15-30
15-40
30-40
40-40 (Great to see Daniela finish that one at the net!) 15/18 net points won
Advantage Daniela... (Ace!)
And an error from Dinara gives Daniela the match.

Yay!

6-3, 6-4

I'm lost, I turned to the live internet feed of the match and it looks like it's over with Dani winning 6-3 5-4. Or is this just an extended break for something?

What happened? :?
I assure you that the match wasn't over at that time, but NOW IT IS!!!!!!!!!! :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav:

Probably a good time to now comment on how much better the same dress looked on Daniela than it did on Safina... haha.

Given the circumstances, this is the most important win of the season for Daniela.
The way to 3rd round is wide open now.
Bravo Daniela !!!

That was a nice one to win. Daniela played so well to build up the 5-1 lead in the first set before she got a bit nervous and let Safina back in before she served it out.

Second set was tense and Safina seemed like she was possessed, I half expected her head to start swivelling round, but she did play a lot better and hit some good shots while Daniela wasn't taking her chances early on. That volley she missed at 2-2 deuce was pretty bad and Safina was getting absolutely everything back and hitting so no fucking way shots. Daniela took her chance to break at 3-3 and held serve for the rest of the match and she played some great tennis when she was serving at 5-4 to save the BPs and then win it on her first match point.

This is great. Under the circumstances this is a great win the way Daniela held her nerve to win and deal with Safina's play and intensity and also with the time warning she got from the umpire. She kept her focus so well, she didn't let errors or Safina's play affect her she kept going for her shots and she slayed a nemesis in straight sets.

I'm just so happy for Daniela, she did a great job.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Really encouraging display. She was hitting the ball hard, pushing Safina all around the court and transitioned smoothly to allow her excellent net game to take effect. Some clutch serving as well. Best I've seen her play since Roland Garros.

BTW loved the dress and especially loved the celebration! :haha:
