Christina gave a very good summary of the match. Daniela played really well in the first set and bossed the rallies but Tanasugarn played a lot better in the second set while Daniela's level dipped, but the scoreline was a bit freakish as every big point went to Tanasugarn and Daniela got to decent positions in most of the games and even had some BPs but couldn't get further. I only got the 3rd set on the scoreboard but Daniela fought hard and played well to get the win.

Daniela's moving better because she's getting fitter and match hardened. She was ill in February and March and then she missed a couple of months with the foot injury, so she missed a lot of practice time and matches and her fitness and confidence went down. She won so many matches in 2007 because of her fitness as she could chase down balls and could maintain her level deep into matches and both she and her opponent knew that and that helped Daniela win a lot of close matches.
Since the comeback she's been struggling for form and fitness and has lost a few matches she'd have won last year, but here she won a dogfight and her fitness and movement was a big factor in her win. Yet again, Daniela showed her resilience and determination and this has to be a big boost to her confidence as well as getting some valuable ranking points.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Jankovic v Wozniak 2-0 (6-3 7-5)
I hate to admit it but Jelena has the upper hand here...
At least, i hope Dani will give Jelena a hard time and if she
wins the first set, everything can happen...

Its great to hear what you had to say about the match christina. Sounds like a lot of positives can be taken out of todays match and like its been said she now has a day off to prepare for a tough test in Jankovic who is the kind of player that Daniela hates, a person who will run down everything and make you play one more shot. But unlike the last two matches Daniela can go into this one with no pressure knowing that she is not expected to win this match and should go out there, enjoy and try and play her best

In a see-saw match earlier in the evening Hantuchova, the Slovakian seventh seed, beat Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-1, 0-6, 7-5.

The world number 13 looked set for a routine victory after taking the first set easily but her Thai opponent came back strongly.

"The conditions were extremely difficult and the balls were so heavy it was difficult to put any winners past her because she was moving so well," said Hantuchova.

"I've never played in this cold. There was fog coming out of my mouth. I thought maybe I should go skiing instead of playing tennis," she added.

After seeing the scoreline I was a bit angry and happy at the same time. First I thought, that was a typical match for Daniela. First winning the set comfortably and then loosing the nextone. But all in all I'm really glad that she made in three. After loosing the second set 0:6, it was a great fight of her to win the third. I'm really proud.

I think Daniela will go into next match with much less pressure because she is the underdog now. Jankovic is number two now but she is not at her peak form atm. I think the key against Jankovic is you have to be consistent and aggressive because JJ can get a lot of balls back and always make you play extra shot. Unfortunately, although Daniela has improved, she still doesn't have the so-called "consistency". So what Daniela can do is try to hit the ball earlier to get advantage, stay strong and aggressive and avoid long rallies. JJ's serve is not dangerous either so Daniela can practice more on return shots to move her around. I think the fighting spirit will help her a lot in the next match, fight for every single point Daniela. Daniela has shown that in the last match, so I expect the same in this match.
