There is reason for optimism indeed. We can never be happy when our gal loses. But it's not so bad at all when a loss has quite a few good things as part of it. This is the first time in heaven knows how long that Daniela has been strongly competitive on back to back days in a main draw against two good players. When the stats for today's match are combed through, they suggest a one sided butt whipping. Yet Dani made it close and was a few points away from squaring each set at 5. She must be pleased to be making such progress, and now she has a respected coach. There may well be something to her attitude she has stated several times about playing for fun and love of the game and not for results. |

A shame she couldn't level back at the end of both of the sets. However was a pleasure to watch the match on btsport (until they moved to watson).. Thank you Acupulco for giving Daniela a wildcard. It was a tough draw so I think two competitibe matches is pretty decent. Anyone know what's next? |

Drakulastream.eu is always good for matches if something like that happens, eddy I think Daniela could get into Indian Wells, she mentioned it in an interview about a month ago and she got a wildcard last year. She is a two-time champion so that will help. Winning a match in Acapulco and being competitive in another will help Daniela get into other tournaments. |
