The men's match before Daniela's ended quickly with a retirement. So she should be out there fairly soon.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Daniela serving:

1-0 Daniela holds to love
1-1 Oprandi holds to 15
1-2 Oprandi breaks to 15 :?
1-3 Oprandi holds to 30, Daniela already in difficulty
2-3 Daniela holds to love, comon
2-4 Oprandi holds from deuce
3-4 Daniela holds to 15, needs to break
3-5 Oprandi holds after several deuces, although Daniela didn't have a break point, this isn't looking good
4-5 Daniela holds to 30, she has to break now
4-6 Oprandi serves out first set to love

That one bad service game cost Daniela the set, she has to hold every time in this set otherwise it'll be over.

The men's match ended a lot sooner than anticipated. I don't know if having to start earlier than she thought she'd have to has disrupted Daniela's rhythm a bit but it seems like she had one bad service game and Oprandi got a break while Daniela's been able to put pressure on Oprandi's serve but without getting a break. This next game with Oprandi serving for the set would be a good time for a break.

So of course Oprandi serves out to 0. Apart from the game she got broken in Daniela's generally been a lot more solid on serve than Oprandi so as long as she can keep her level up she'll get chances. Daniela's just got to beat Oprandi in straight sets from now on.

It's a pain that this match isn't on a televised court.

Shit, Daniela's broken in the first game of the second set after having a GP, this is going to take all of her fighting qualities to get out of this.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Daniela serving first in 2nd set:

0-1 Oprandi breaks from deuce, Daniela please fight and don't collapse  :(
0-2 Another long deuce game and Oprandi holds, still not a single bp for Daniela, I think it might be curtains already
1-2 Daniela holds to 30, we just need one bad game from Oprandi, and Daniela can switch this around
2-2 Daniela breaks on first bp
3-2 Daniela holds to love
4-2 Daniela breaks to deuce COMON
5-2 Daniela holds to love
6-2 Daniela breaks to love

Daniela really stepped up and maybe Oprandi is struggling physically, Daniela needs to keep this momentum. All we ask for is for Daniela to fight and do her best and she certainly did in that 2nd set where she was a set and a break down.

Daniela serving first in 3rd set:

1-0 Daniela holds to 30
2-0 Daniela breaks to 0 COMON Daniela must hold next game to keep the momentum
3-0 Daniela holds to 15, good stuff, keep it up Daniela
3-1 Oprandi holds to deuce, Daniela must concentrate and keep holding, there's a long way to go
4-1 Daniela holds to 15, good stuff, it's only one break though
4-2 Oprandi holds to deuce, Oprandi is fighting, 2 more holds is all Daniela needs
4-3 Oprandi breaks to 15, knew this would happen, Daniela has to break right back now and put this match away
5-3 Daniela breaks after an epic game, wish there was a stream as am sure there were lots of comons in that game!
6-3 Daniela serves out the match to love!!!!!!!      :P :P :P   8-) 8-)

This is a great win, the run of 8 games was particularly impressive and Oprandi really started to hit back in the middle of the 3rd set and Daniela broke Oprandi to keep the break when it could have been 4-4 so that was really good focus and determination from Daniela.

Whether it's Hesse or Cornet next Daniela's got a good chance there, but recovery will be important and hopefully it will be on a streamed court so we can watch the match.

Daniela had a couple of deuces against the Oprandi serve but Oprandi holds.

Daniela has to hold in her next service game, she can came back from a break down but it will be a mountain to climb from 2 break down. She holds to 30 for 1-2.
2-2, Daniela saves a some GPs and breaks on her first BP.
3-2, Daniela holds to 0.
4-2, Daniela breaks on her 3rd BP after a couple of deuces.
5-2, Daniela holds to 0.
6-2, Daniela breaks to 0.

3rd set:

1-0, Daniela holds to 15.
2-0, Daniela breaks to 0.
3-0, Daniela holds to 15.
3-1, Oprandi holds on her 2nd GP after a couple of deuces.
4-1, Daniela holds to 15.
4-2, Oprandi holds on her 2nd GP, Daniela was 15-30.
4-3, Oprandi breaks to 15, back on serve.
5-3, Daniela breaks on her 2nd BP, saved a GP at 40-30.
6-3, Daniela serves out to 15 :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav: :wav:

Whew, that was a battle. Daniela showed her class and fighting spirit in the match to come from a set and a break down to win. She deserved the win as she was the better player and she won the majority of her games to 0 or 15 while she took Oprandi to deuce in a lot of the games Oprandi won. Daniela had a lapse on serve once a set that Oprandi was able to take advantage of and break but for the most part Daniela was the better player and got a solid win although it really should have been more comfortable than it was. It's a win at a slam and quite a few other players have dropped sets: Kerber won 7-5 in the third against Pervak, Petkovic dopped a set and won a tight tiebreak against Jabeur and Venus Williams & Date-Krumm are a set each right now.

Thanks for the livescores, eddy.

[b]Yay![b] That's The Way uh-huh uh-huh I Like It uh-huh uh-huh! :) 8-)
A little slow cooking, but Dani completed making Rice-A-Ro(ma)ni out of Oprandi!
Chungwit, eddy, you guys are such a fun read while a Maalox Match like this is ongoing. I felt like I was right with you on the roller coaster. At 4-6 0-2, my stomach was churning and it seemed like the lima beans were on the stove. Then, the Live Score Hunter had Oprandi up 30-0. Ready to toss in the towel, it was very relieving when they corrected it to 15-0 Dani. That (plus my finding and carrying in my pocket a pen we took home from Carlsbad) seemed to turn it around. 9 straight games! At one stage, I counted Daniela winning 20 out of 23 points. Then, how could it not happen, the obligatory scare, then the huge break and the finish!
This is exactly what we have always enjoyed about Daniela, and what she had not done in a long time: the 3 set comeback victory. And this is what she did over and over last year in New York. Let it be repeated or exceeded!

Let's Go, Daniela!

Halep also dropped a set, adding to your point, Chungwit.
And you're right that Daniela was better throughout and probably should have won in straight sets. Try out some of these numbers: 6 aces, 4 DF's (Oprandi served 11 of them), a mere 4 UE's, 61% 1st serves in, 72% first serves won, 64% 2nd serves won, 26-42 won on Oprandi's 2nd serve, 95-73 total points won. Good to see.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Alex the court was an outside one so the 4UE's actually relates to the double faults, never know why IBM haven't corrected that!

Thanks also for your scores Chungwit, sorry to duplicate yours but it does help the nail biting as the match goes along!

That did seem like an awfully low number of UE's. Gotta love the 6 aces!
A Facebook poster said the other day that he caught Daniela looking sharp while practicing with Bouchard. My goodness. Daniela can befriend anybody, even those who publically state they're not out on tour to make friends!

Daniela has posted on FB that she's taking the ice bucket challenge later this day. Please, get a video of this! I have suggested that she stand sideways so most of the ice will miss her! :)

Let's Go, Daniela!
