Get's it back to 4-4 only to be broken to love, it's becoming a mental block.. Probably the worst set from Daniela this year...she is just so tight...this is like Hampton all over again..Daniela's got to stay out there for as long as possible and try and get this carried over until tomorrow. |

Daniela got back to 4-4 and then gave the set away with errors. Zakopalova 3/4 BPS converted, Daniela 2/9. If she can raise her level and cut out the errors then she's still got a great chance because Zakopalova isn't doing anything special. Daniela really needs to find her Birmingham spirit ASAP. |

Are you freaking kidding me?! She's gonna bomb out in R1 again?  Why is she even tired? Maybe the injury did really come to bother her? This is beyond frustrating. MP And she is out. What a ridiculous result. Back to square one? I really can't believe this. But I guess that is the state of her game; at least she can catch some fire every once in a while and win minor tournaments. The horrendous streak of R1 losses continues. |

How horrendously painful. From the 1st game on it just never felt right. I had visions coming in of a rise into the thirties. Now, Dani will plummet to heaven knows where, and I'm really worried that my trip to Carlsbad won't find myself and Daniela in the same place.

Ugh, I just don't know what to say about this, this must be devastating for Daniela. Daniela was so poor and lacklustre and made so many errors. Zakopalova played well and she hit some good shots but most of the time she was counterpunching and waiting for errors from Daniela. Daniela didn't serve well and she only won 44% on her first serve while Zakopalova was 6/8 on BPs. Daniela was 3/10. Normally if Daniela did as well as Nadal at a slam I'd be really pleased, not this time. Hopefully she can do something in the doubles and take something away from Wimbledon. I don't know how much the scheduling affected Daniela but the uncertainty over when and where she'd play couldn't have done her any good. She was so lacklustre and she was asking for the match to be stopped in the second set. Daniela just seemed distracted and couldn't maintain any form while Zakopalova was more focused. |

Why will she plummet? She wasn't defending anything. She can still rise, but not if she only plays nice tennis two weeks a year. ps: hahaha, jackassess already saying in TF that Birmingham was a dire tournament because 3 of the four semifinalists are out of Wimbly. |
