Do the two fed cup wins count??

I didn't think so, but in Chungwit's Dani stat corner, he has 488, so this would be 489. I'd personally count them, but Chungwit probably knows for sure, so I'll wait for his enlightnment.
I got a chance to look at the WTA site, and they have Dani at 488, so Fed Cup must count. Learn something new every day. Ergo, 489!

Thank you so much, mOnmOn. I hold on to the dream that someday I'll read or hear the exact same thing from Daniela. I have said that on FB, and it's ended up that I had to block more neandrathals than the 49ers offensive line! You guys, you understand.

Today's opponent, Bychkova, is exactly the type Daniela's been losing to the last 8 months prior to Fed Cup. #211 in the world, they've never faced each other, she lucked into this match with Kirilenko retiring, Dani could really make this a profitable week points-wise (potentially jump right back up into high 50's) with a win. This might tell us more about a renaissance for our gal than the last 3 wins did. Hope for the best, slightly cringing.

BTW...the WTA posts little blurbs on FB about a particular win or milestone for basically a few select (read Marketable) players. Ivanovic is one of them, so they posted a photo of her 1st round match and asked "did you like her performance?". Of course, the drooling featherbrains weighed in with their gorgeous Ana stuff. But in between, there were a number of I Thought You Were Hurt/Where Were You When Serbia Needed You/Shame On You, Ana comments. Tee-Hee-Hee! Can't fool 'em all, Ana!

Better 5-2...had 2 non consecutive set points but bychkova holds, don't make this complicated Daniela. 5-3, good stuff 6-3.

Focus Daniela, again needs to win this in 2 to save energy. FFS now bychkova playing like a god..

When I listed my concerns for today's match, I was not aware that Bychkova was a f#@%*&in' qualifier! Dani finally beat one! Huzzah! I'll take the win under any circumstance. It felt good after the 2nd set to have realistic hopes that she could regain control and get the victory, unlike most of the last 8 months. Daniela now shoots up the rankings, and she knows and we know she can beat Errani. Roulez, young lady!
Esoterica: You guys realize that in her 4 wins in 5 days, Daniela has converted her 1st match point each time! Gotta like that!
No one can ever accuse me of saying that it would have been a Bych had Dani lost!
