I'm a terrible person, but Errani totally losing the plot at the end of the match and behaving like a complete jerk was too delicious for words. :P

Daniela & Srebotnik are the first match on Court 1 at 11am against Safarova & Pavlyuchenkova.

Yeah. She was seemingly a nice, docile lady when Daniela destroyed her at Pattaya in '11. Some success can change a person.
I am very much enjoying the 11 AM matches. Dani seems to do better when her match is first up. And. it's 8 PM here in New York, so I'm able to follow the matches quite nicely. Glad someone is taking me into consideration!

Let's Go, Daniela!

I just don't get a person acting like that when an opponent has played some really fine tennis to win. If Errani had self-destructed in an avalanche of unforced errors,I could understand her being a bit peeved, but she only made around 10 UE all match. Daniela hit 58 winners in 29 games, which deserves better than a bitch handshake and no eye contact.

Shrbotnik/Daniela domination: 6-2, 6-4!

I found You Tube highlights from the Errani match, but was not yet able to see the end yet. They pick it up at 5 all 3rd set, and when Errani wins the first point, the play-by-play man chortles that Errani has forgotten how to lose. Being that I'm an attorney, I figure that at that moment, Daniela must have been allowed to refresh her recollection!

Let's Go, Daniela!

Congrats to Daniela on single and doubles wins. Hopefully the roll will continue tomorrow. A great start to 2013 even if her first victory was in 2012 in the central time zone US.

Also it is great to get the livestreams and watch her live!!

A good win in the doubles. It would be nice if this was more than a temporary team but it's great that Daniela's starting the year with wins which gives her momentum and confidence.

Tsurenko beat Gajdosova in three sets so she's next for Daniela. This really represents a great chance for Daniela because she could have been playing Sharapova, but Tsurenko gave Daniela a tough match at the Australian Open last year and she has nothing to lose so she's got to be respected.

I think Errani's behaviour is a Tennis Val thing because Kirilenko goes there too and she behaves like that as well.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Wow what a great doubles win against a really tough team. Srebotnik and Daniela are a fantastic team. Shame they are not continuing. Does anyone know who she's playing with at the Australian Open?

Have to say some of the singles matches at Brisbane so far have been such high quality.

Kerber vs Puig was amazing, and Azarenka vs Lisicki also was really good. Lisicki winners were

And of course Serena has been in stella form too..

I think the top 20 players this year is going to change a heck of lot throughout the course of the year.

Disaster :? Trainer called for Daniela mid-game...3-6 4-4 this is bad...she's looked off all match...I can't believe this, both players gone off the court..but Daniela receiving off-court medical time out.
Left upper thigh heavily strapped.. :?

3-6 4-6

Well Daniela pretty much folded the last two games...what an upsetting way to end what has been such an encouraging tournament.

I guess she won't play next week and yet again it'll be another race to get fit just before a grand slam...how many times these last few years this has happened..so frustrating..

Definitely felt that something wasn't quite right from the beginning of the match, Daniela seemed cautious and hit so many balls long,, and just didn't look that comfortable from the getgo. Also barely any attempt to hit those brilliant angles and no coming to net either. Tsurenko was good an solid but Daniela would have beaten her for sure playing like she did in the middle set against Errani.

Daniela won't be seeded for the Australian Open, gotta pray she gets a kind draw of she is able to participate. Sad day.

This may be my internet, away from home, but I can't seem to get the live scoring to work point-by-point.

In the first set, Daniela lost the first four games. She got into the set from there, holding twice and breaking to 3-4. But Tsurenko held easily to 5-3 and then broke Daniela back to win the set.

OK, Live scoring working now.
Daniela broke at 30-40.
0:15, 15:15, 30:15, 30:30, BP, 40:40, BP, 1-1.
15:0, 30:0, 30:15, 30:30, BP, 2-1.
0:15, 15:15, 30:15, 40:15, 3-1.
15:0, 15:15, 15:30, 15:40, 30:40, deuce, GP, 3-2. // Big missed opportunity there for a 4-1 lead.
15:0, 15:15, 30:15, 40:15, 4-2.
15:0, 30:0, 40:0, 40:15, 4-3.
0:15, 0:30, 0:40, 4-4. :(
15:0 and then Daniela took a medical timeout. She's lost nine of the last ten points.
Back now, 30:0, 40:0, 40:15, 4-5.
15:0, 30:0, 30:15, 30:30, 30:40, 4-6. Game, set match Tsurenko.

Very disappointing and a huge missed opportunity given how open the draw was. Hopefully, the injury isn't too problematic going forward.

Now a medical time out for Daniela. Seems to be a muscle issue.

Not another injury before a Grand Slam! :(

I wonder if she's overdone it on the training front? Her arms are insanely muscled in comparison to how they usually look.

Not seeing the match, I was figuring that this was classically Danielian, able to beat anyone, able to lose to anyone. But now after reading your posts, I feel ill. Why is such a loving, good person so cursed? I assume that an excellent shot at doubles title #10 is out the window. Can only hope it's not too bad. As what was looking like a glorious week progressed, the thought did cross my mind that this is a lot of matches in a few days, which Dani hadn't went through in a long time. Frig!

Let's Go, Daniela!

Im amazed Daniela attempted the doubles. Shows her class to try and not let down srebotnik. Retired 1-5 down. What a sucky day. Hopefully someone can find anything Daniela has said to the press about the extent of her injury.
