That was painful to watch on the scoreboard but the beauty of being a Daniela fan the last couple years is that, unlike previous years, after she loses the first close set you don't have to watch the melt down. She continues fighting. However it has increased my liquor usage.

Im glad that she won, but Im worried about her shoulder, it is clearly bothering her as she is getting broken with ease.

I don't expect much from the Ivanovic match, which is a shame cause I'd love for daniela to beat her.

Several of yesterday's post-match comments intrigued me. Adding it together, whatever problems Dani had in previous years, we clearly have a gutsy fighter that we can be proud to root for, especially if she's hurting as much as we fear.
#1 & 2 doubles teams bit the dust yesterday. Defense, anyone? :)
Thanks, guys, for the shout-outs and comments while I was in Miami! In this Forum, you all are the most dyed-in-the-wool, loyal and knowledgeable Daniela fans in the world. When I joined, I wondered if I was out of my league. Now, I feel like I'm part of the family! Thanks again. Let's Go, Daniela!

Gastric flu can be an absolute nightmare to recover from-having suffered from it before I know that it can take weeks to fully recover. It also causes considerable weight loss-Daniela seems fine from recent photos, but I wonder if the ordeal has sapped her physically and this has lead to her serving woes.

Anyway I hope she does herself justice tomorrow. :)

This is disappointing, especially as Daniela served for the second set but then her serve fell apart with the two double faults but the rest of the time the serve seemed to hold up better then yesterday or the doubles first round, although that really is trying to find any sort of positive. It would have been lovely if Daniela and Agnieszka could have defended their title but it wasn't to be. Most of the other seeds in the doubles have gone out too.

I hope that Daniela's shoulder got through this without too much stress or damage and that she's able to do herself justice tomorrow.

Not sure if anyone is watching, but this Venus-Wozniak match is a new kind of bad. Errors all over the place both ways, best summarized by this exchange with Wozniak serving for the match up 5-4 and 30-0.

Double fault (30-15)
Double fault (30-30)
Forehand error on a 61mph second serve (40-30)
Double fault (deuce)
Error (Ad Williams)
Error (Game Williams)

Wozniak didn't put a single groundstroke in play after being up 30-0. Seriously.
