Can't see Daniela winning a tournament this year which would be the first time since 2010...

I can't imagine any of us would disagree. And that's good, because that's exactly when she shocks us.

Rare that a draw comes out on a Friday, but Montreal released theirs today. Daniela gets the not to be Mrs. Rory McElroy. They haven't faced each other in awhile. Sad to say, Daniela's best wins this year have been against Vinci, who's having a horrible year in singles and Hingis in WTT. Dani is Oooooooooverdue to beat a big name. Here's hoping!

Well the big plus is that Daniela didn't even play Rogers Cup last year as her ranking was high enough...

However, Wozniacki just won a small tite and reached the 4th round of Wimbledon. We'll see what Daniela can do here, but first I want Daniela to do well in the doubles at Stanford.

It's the late night (very late) sound of sports. Naturally, Serena needed 3 sets and 2 hours to finish off Ivanovic.
In the first set, Daniela and Arantxa fell behind 5-2, getting broken three straight times, all on deciding point. They then swept the next 4 games before Kania/Siniakova took it to the tiebreaker, which they won 7-3. All that for naught.
2nd set: Dani/Arantxa won the first two games, then frittered 4 BP, failing to grab a 3-0 lead.
Naturally, they got broken to love, then squandered two more BP, but did break back for a 3-2 lead. (How does Pepto Bismol taste at nearly 3:00 AM?) Then they missed two game points which would have put them up 4-2, and paid for it. Kania/Siniakova won 3 of the last 4, fittingly breaking in the final game. 6-7(3) 4-6.
Kops-Jones and Spears would have been next. This roller coaster act would not have played very well against them, so it's just as well. Daniela gets to cross the 3 time zones and get a day or two to adjust before facing Caro, the silver lining here.

The doubles seems like a case of missed opportunities with Daniela & Arantxa not being able to take their chances on deciding points and BPs. If they been able to take half of these then they'd probably have won. Spears and Kops-Jones would have been tough opponents in the semi-final but it would have been good to find out how tough.
The only silver lining is that Daniela can have a day extra to prepare for Montreal.
