2. I noticed that Daniela would not even attempt to retrieve balls that would mean a quick change of direction.
On low bouncing grass she wouldn't reach them anyway and even if she did, she wouldn't get into position to hit a good shot.

Hey guys,

I was at wimbledon today and saw daniela's match on court 6.

Here are some points i'd like to say:

1. Daniela fought brilliantly throughout the match.
2. I noticed that Daniela would not even attempt to retrieve balls that would mean a quick change of direction. I still think that the heel is still a cause for concern although obviously she can play at the moment.
3. In the first set Daniela was extremely angry with herself which I believed helped her get back into the 1st set. I've never seen Daniela so angry! She whacked her bag a few times with her racketduring change of ends. In the 2nd set she calmed down and was never really in trouble.
4. Errors Daniela made was 9 times out of 10 going long rather than in the net. All in all her groundstokes were very good but could penetrate more.
5. One thing that annoyed me was Errani's coach sat behind me and kept talking to Errani in Italian. I hate illegal caoching during matches, i wanted to say something ha ha! As a result Errani kept going to Daniela's backhand and it worked!
6. Finally, Errani was no pushover today, she retreived so many balls! Daniela had to do many overheads - she didn't miss one!

Hope these comments helped. Daniela was so happy when she won, both relief and happiness!

overall I like these 6 points, they make me a bit more optimistic about the next match

Thank you for your comment, Eddy. :P

She'll meet Alisa Kleybanova in the second round.

Fan de Daniela en toutes circonstances.

Thanks very much eddy for those points on Daniela's match today. Very jealous as well that you were there lol same as christina, makes me feel more optimistic about Daniela's match with Kleybanova but I think it will be a sterner test

im glad she won in two sets, the slow start was kinda expected and normal for someone who didn't play in two and half months. she played better after it and i think it will continue in her next matches aswell.

i also noticed during some points she didn't try to reach them but they were fast indeed, and not's the first time she did that lol, i think that's ok

about the illegal coaching, angel jiminez was just sitting behind daniela aswell, i wouldn't be suprised if he said some things aswell lol.

im glad i saw her on tv again, last time was vs maria during IW.

i think this was a very positive day for her, except the first games

This is from the Wimbledon site....

Rumours of Daniela Hantuchova’s demise were a little premature. The lovely Dani Hani has just broken Sara Errani to love to make it fives in the first set. I’m a fan of her’s – her level of play is awesome but she needs to step up to the next level mentally (in my humble opinion), as testified by her final-set collapse here last year when Serena was on one leg and still beat her.

who came up with that ?

She doesn't like the name Dani

It's not exactly new, I believe someone used it already last year during Wimbledon. It sounds weird imo.

Needless to say, Welcome Back Dani :D

As they say, the first one is always the hardest, specially after a long break. Now it's all about how she feels, no doubts it´s going to hurt but it always does when you come back after an injury, you don´t just think about the game itself, your head it is just all over the place, but from what I've read :
"In the first set Daniela was extremely angry with herself which I believed helped her get back into the 1st set. I've never seen Daniela so angry! She whacked her bag a few times with her racketduring change of ends. In the 2nd set she calmed down and was never really in trouble."

There is no doubt she wants it maybe more than ever, as a Dani fan it´s great news, as a tennis fan just as much.

1 Down 6 to go

No great surprises today. Ivanovic must have had a really tough match today. Also next round should be a tough one against Zheng Jie.
