oooooooooooooo, this is going to be an interesting one. Murray has a chance to knock Federer out before the knockout stages, but after already qualifying will he want to exert too much effort in his match against Federer on friday or not? It would give him, and the other semi finalists some more hope if Federer was to see the exit on friday, but at least Andy is already there, and that its the swiss player who needs to win

Murray wins; Federer out
Murray has beaten Federer for the second straight time (the second time he has done this in his career). The former-world number 1 is now out of the tournament, finishing third in the red group. Murray finishes first, having won all three of his round-robin matches. A very good performance from the Scot, particularly since he didn't have to win in order to stay in the tournament. I think he knew though that if he didn't beat Federer today he would have probably ended up playing him again later in the tournament (in the final). Federer is suffering from a back injury, but it was a good match from Murray all the same.

Semi-final line-up:
Murray (winner of red group) v. Davydenko (runner-up of gold group)
Djokovic (winner of gold group) v. Simon (runner-up of red group)

Seems to of not been worth it now, using up 3 hours of pure effort to knock out the number one seed Federer, only to not have enough in the tank to beat Davydenko the following day. A great great, breakthrough year for Murray and with no points to defend at the Australian Open in January, hopefully he can make more of a climb up the rankings

Twice in two weeks, and three times the last four times out, Murray really has Federer's number atm, Andy Roddick in the final which will be a toughie, and another person Murray has had a few battles with the past
