Anne Keothavong has moved into the world's top fifty in the WTA rankings following her semi-final appearance in Memphis. The British number 1 moves from 52nd to 48th, and is now just 242 points off the world's top forty.
She is the first British woman to go inside the world's top fifty in the rankings since Jo Durie in 1993.

Laura Robson has surpassed Thailand's number one junior Noppawan Lertcheewakarn to become the number 1 ranked junior player in the world. The Brit leads the Thai player by over 150 ranking points.
Robson has also achieved a career-high ranking on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, rising to within the world's top-500 at 499 (as of March 23rd).
The 15-year-old has also been offered a wildcard into this years Wimbledon Ladies singles qualifiying draw, although I believe it will be upgraded to a Ladies singles main draw wildcard once the tournament draws nearer.

A great achievement for Laura and thoroughly deserved as well to be the world junior number 1. I really really really hope she has a fruitful career ahead, but at just 15 she has many many years ahead of her to achieve everything, so no need to rush :)

A good past week for Katie O'Brien, reaching a semi-final in a top ITF-level tournament and thus moving from 126 to 107 in the WTA rankings (just 3 places short of her career high ranking set last June).
Although Melanie South has moved back 7 places this week, she too is very close to the top-100, after a brief appearance earlier this year. I think it is now a matter of weeks before these two move into the top-100, and Elena Baltacha is not that far behind thanks to solid results this year including qualifying for the Australian Open and reaching the second round.
Georgie Stoop is also racing up the rankings, and has reached a career high ranking of 178 this week. She will most certainly get a wildcard for Wimbledon and I think she has a good chance of a first round win there (depending on the draw of course). She was very unlucky not to qualify for the Australian Open alongside Baltacha and O'Brien this year. She had beaten Alexa Glatch in round 1 of qualifying (and we have seen in recent weeks that she is no easy opponant), before narrowly losing to Kathrin Woerle in the second round, going down 14-12 in the final set.
It could be a very good year for British women's tennis, with Anne Keothavong already well inside the top-100, and just a few places short of the top-50, with a WTA ranking of 53.
