Slight off topic but this is Jankovic on Shazza: One of Jankovic's rivals at the academy was Maria Sharapova. "I don't remember who was beating who but we were competitive. There was cheating..." Jankovic breaks into her jangling laugh. "I remember those balls close to the line. She w... |

I know it's a very difficult time for Daniela but she's made the right decision. She'll get other chances at Roland Garros and by taking the time to fully heal, she should be able to come back and be competitive. I'm hopeful that Daniela can play at Wimbledon, but what I hope for most is that she co... |

If Daniela plays when her foot hasn't fully healed and against medical advice, then, to me, she's crazy. She knows that she needs more time to heal and that she's not prepared or ready, yet she wants to play. I hope that someone close to her makes an intervention. Playing at Roland Garros is not wor... |

Nadal really is something else on clay, although I think things would have been different if Federer had made that volley on the set point at 5-1 in the first. After that Nadal got into it while Federer became more passive and the match became a bit like an anaconda suffocating the life out of the p... |

I think it's very unlikely that Daniela will play Roland Garros as she was saying that she couldn't stand or walk for more than ten minutes without pain, so I don't think that she'll have recovered enough to be able to play, let alone do any preparation. The risks far outweigh any rewards and I'm su... |

Dominika played well and really pushed Shazza, although Shazza did make a lot of errors - 12 DFs for instance -but that largely because of how good Dominika's retrieving was. It was a shame she couldn't pick up another big win like her win against Venus in Doha, but Dominika can take a lot of positi... |

Thanks for the interview Martin. This must be absolutely terrible for Daniela, especially as she was in such great form then she gets sick and then injured. I can only hope that she's able to recover soon and that she makes a complete recovery. It looks fairly certain that she'll miss Roland Garros ... |

When I first heard the news on the radio, it was a shock and something that I didn't expect at all. I know that she had quite a few injuries and was in a slump, but i was still surprised. Chris Evert said she knew it was time to quit when she wasn't bothered about losing and I think that there's a b... |
