It's also interesting how someone can reveal, or should that be flaunt, their prejudices when commenting on a tennis draw. Is this a reference to my comments about Olympic entry system, using Selima Sfar as an example? I wrote: "What the hell is a stiff like Sfar doing in this draw? Nadia Petr...

So she's drawn in a tough quarter with Serena and Dementieva. It gets worse, can you believe that this is Daniela's full quarter: Daniela-Sugiyama Wozniacki-Sfar Tanasugarn-Arvidsson Dementieva-K.Bondarenko Serena-Govortsova Errani-Stosur Peng-Suarez Navarro Cornet-Vaidisova If she even reaches the ...

Maria Sharapova defeated Marta Domachowska last night but after the match she retired for the rest of the tournament and she will probably not play the Olympics and the US Open. She will decide after some tests. It's the old shoulder injury from last season again According to her website, her docto...

Why would someone send a pm saying they didn't understand a post when they could just say so in the thread? To not clog up the thread. So care to enlighten me as to what you meant by that Atlanta remark.

The little onion that could toppled Dementieva 6-4, 6-2! She benefited from eight double faults, but must have done an awful lot of things well. She now has two top-tier wins this year, Venus and now Elena. Plus, she has also taken Masha, Sveta and Elena to three sets. A bit of mixed emotions for me...

My loyalties will remain to this forum and the Cocktail Party, in that order. I will keep posting news as I find it and my thoughts on Daniela's play, schedule, etc. here. Truthfully, with Christina, Dragon and co. doing such a fine job, the official forum strikes me as redundant.

Baseball is my favorite sport, but the major leagues do not stop for the Olympics, so that event means nothing because none of the best players are there. well im not sure if you knew this, but the olympics was actaually for amature athletes. if you were a professional athlete you could not compete...

I have an open question and one I never hear asked: why does anyone care about the Olympics? To me, it's a bunch of athletes I haven't heard of playing sports I don't care about. Since when does anyone care about swimming, archery, diving, badminton, canoeing, fencing or shooting. How about the fiel...

In addition to Daniela, Jankovic - Of course, she's always good for a laugh or two and there's something to be said for a player who really seems to enjoy earning millions for hitting a yellow ball (as someone else said). Her style of play tends to lead to some entertaining matches with longer point...

Of course, she would have had the easiest draw since her return had she played. :x A qualifier followed by the winner of Niculescu and a qualifier. On the other hand, I said in the LA thread that she should bypass this event. She clearly has to work through some things and it's easier in a way on th...

Tobi at Tennis Forum has said that Daniela has been removed from the tournament web site's entry list, but that she still appears on the internal one which he is familiar with. I guess we'll find out which is right soon enough.
