I agree with everything you said, Chungwit. I know how amazing Daniela's resilience is. No one would ever accuse me of overreacting just a bit when we all wanted her to win so much today. (Would you? ) That's why I often wait awhile before posting after a hard loss. I still wonder what's left. But the sensible answer is the 20 overall titles or more, including the occasional singles title, and some big individual wins over top players, maybe another Fed Cup title. You know, that's always been enough for me. So shall it continue to be. Enjoy yourself on Thursday, eddy, and don't become a stranger here. I gobble up all your posts. And you did write a few things 2 weeks ago when Daniela won. Some days, our quirky superstitions just don't work! Let's hope for some doubles fun in the days to come.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Apparently the courts are not that good this year. Grass is always tricky, but today it's already 5 players (Azarenka, Darcis, Cilic, Isner and Stepanek) that gave a WO or retired from the matches :(

Of course....unlike yesterday, the 3 matches ahead of Daniela's zoomed by. Best of luck, Dani and Mrs. Ovechkin to be!

Whomever runs the graphics here and decided to continue to run the Birmingham results on the right corner crawl, Thank you! It 's good for the soul to see those results again and again. :)

Let's Go, Daniela!

A good win in the doubles. Daniela & Maria raced through the first set and they withstood a fight back from Irigoyen & Ormarechea in the second and came back from a break down and saved 3 BPs at 4-3. They served the match out comfortably enough to 15.

So many players have had problems with the courts and with how slippy they've been and Daniela just didn't seem comfortable with the court last night, especially as her ankle would be a concern for her. It was just another thing along with all the waiting around and the late change of court that bothered her. Zakopalova slipped a few times but she still played well while Daniela was sub-par and I wonder how much she was concerned about getting injured.

Daniela won the mixed doubles at the US Open with Bhupathi so it would be great if they could do it at Wimbledon.

Very well done by Daniela and Ms. Kirilenko. They took charge early, and once again (for those like me who occasionally forget) Dani showed resilience. I have a trading card with Daniela on one side and Kirilenko on the other, which makes this pairing more intriguing to me. I also like her mixed partner and their history. Perhaps the start of big things to come.
All hail Michelle Larcher De Brito!! Ivanovic went down, too. Suddenly I don't feel so bad about yesterday. And thanks to ArturJFC for sending me the numbers that show where Dani will end up in the rankings.

Let's Go, Daniela!

One of the craziest days in Wimbledon history. You can only tip your hat to Stakhovsky, whose tennis was beyond belief.

Absolutely insane day at Wimbledon.

Definitely feel a bit better about Daniela's loss. The courts must be slower than normal as the big hitters just can't seem to penetrate through the court, and the slipping is affecting everyone too.

So pleased that Dani/Kiri won today.

Any interview from Daniela?

Actually the courts are playing very slickly-Stakhovsky was able to defeat Roger with pure S/V tennis. Are you still going to Wimbledon tomorrow eddy?

It's all a mystery to me.

Daniela must look at the results today and just laugh and think wow anyone can lose at any time, no need to retire just yet..

Yes going tomo, never seen Serena or Gasquet play before live so should be good :)

Nothing in the Slovak media from Daniela, eddy. Normally there's something from SITA or TASR, the Slovak news agencies, if she wins or if a Slovakian wins, but it's pretty rare if there's a loss. There was some stuff from Cibulkova because she won yesterday but there tends not to be any interviews if a Slovakian loses. Daniela's match was late and I'm not sure she felt like talking about things.

Have a good time at Wimbledon tomorrow, eddy, there's no Daniela but there are still a lot of good matches and you might get to see her around the grounds or practising.

Incredible number of upsets and injuries today  .
