Daniela could face any of these lot in the 1st round:

9. Agnieszka Radwanska (POL)
10. Samantha Stosur (AUS)
11. Flavia Pennetta (ITA)
12. Yanina Wickmayer (BEL)

and Zvonareva, Ivanovic, or Henin...

Ivanovic played pretty well yesterday against Radwanska and hit some really good winners! She's still struggling with her serve and mental strength though.

Always a tough tournament this one, shown by that entry list. One match at a time is all Daniela can do, she has shown she has improved a lot on clay so who knows, but being that this tournament is in her favourite city in the world I think she'll enjoy being there whatever happens.

Dani is already in Rome from Monday. She has a lot of time to rest, do some shopping and be prepared for the tournament. A good draw like Charleston and here we go! I want JJ again!

Daniela got to the semi-final here in 2007 so she has got good recent performances in this tournament. There are a lot of good players in the field but Daniela's in very good form right now and no one's going to want to play her. We'll see what the draw is and hopefully she gets a reasonable draw. A lot will depend on her health and fitness so hopefully she's been able to recover from her exertions in Charleston and the Fed Cup.

It's pretty nice to have matches with Top players before RG. Playing with them, Dani always bring her best on court. It's so important this year to do well in RG...

Suarez Navarro twisted her ankle yesterday so she'll be out - one less clay-courter for Daniela to contend with.
I like her chances, and I think her run here in 2007 will give her a boost this week given that she knows she is playing some good tennis right now. I hope she avoids a seed in the opening round because the players in 9-16 positioning are tough. Of course as Eddy has already suggested it would be nice if she manages to avoid Henin and Zvonareva too.
These premier tournaments always seem to be about the draw - especially when we're talking about Daniela. If she gets lucky then it could be a good week.

It's ironic how the top-three seeds here are in pretty rough shape. Serena is coming back from three months off so we probably can't expect much from her, Wozniacki has a dodgy ankle and lost today against Safarova, and Safina is also just coming back to the tour and although she won today it looked like a bit of an in-and-out performance. I can't see Kuznetsova winning the title (especially considering she lost to Li yesterday... on clay), and Azarenka had a surprise loss today aswell. Maybe Venus could come up with the goods this week. She is definately due a big clay court title in my opinion.

It is quite funny. I almost prefer Daniela's chances of beating one of the 1-5 seeds rather than the 9-16 bracket she finds herself in. I think we're all hopeful of a good run here. She's played well in Rome before and she's been playing amazing tennis this last month. Her confidence would have to be sky high after her Fed Cup performance so as long as she's not tired or hurting i'm sure we'll see some solid performances (note, the plural).

Daniela's easily the most dangerous floater in the draw so i'm sure we won't be the only ones eagerly awaiting her first round opponent.
