and with a Danka win. She was close in Indian Wells 2008 QF. Was up 5-2 in the first set, and even though clay isn't Danka's favorite surface, she isn't at disadvantage as Masha hates it just as much. Big difference now is that Daniela is slowly finding form whereas Masha hasn't played for 9 months or something like that.

I remember the YEC in 2007 where Maria was coming back from injury and Daniela was in great form, having just won Linz-she still found a way to stuff it up.

I personally think Daniela would beat her. When Maria came back from injury for the YEC in 2007 that was a totally different situation, mainly because she hadn't had almost 9 months off. Alot happens during the amount of time Sharapova has had off the circuit, and her doubles performance in Miami reflects this. I don't think she'll be all that competitve, and with it being on clay, she is particularly liable to have an 'upset' loss handed to her from someone like Errani or Alona Bondarenko (who has had a good week in Madrid). If she gets a nice draw then she could scrape through the first few rounds but I don't think we can expect much from her in Warsaw. Even the greats can't comeback and play their best tennis that quickly. Just look at Serena in 2007. Although she won the Australian Open, prior to that she had entered Hobart and lost at the quarter-final stage to Sybille Bammer, having scraped through against Lucie Safarova in round 2. I think it will be a quarter-final at best for Sharapova too, and then perhaps we can expect a little more from her at Roland Garros.

The link for the tournament that you have did not work for me. Here is an English version that works.

Daniela was soooo nervous in that match. She beat herself more than Maria beat her.

Good to hear she's playing in Warsaw...I really want her to be seeded in RG...
I think this is a good tournament for her...to increase her rank....
I hope she can win 3 straight here.. ;)

i think they take the rankings from monday 18th may for the seedings, so i don't think dnaiela will be seeded for RG.
