Yeah! Let the good times roll!
The 10 pt. super tiebreak suits Daniela quite well. Her success rate in them has got to be notably better than regular tiebreakers in the last few years.
Couldn't help but notice that Dani held serve every time except for the last time. Way to work it out on the court, young lady. Let's see our gal call this her favorite tourney for doubles this time. :)

And it did not escape my attention that Hingis lost.

Let's Go, Daniela!

A good win in the end and Daniela & Arantxa raced through the supertiebreak. They really should have won in straight sets as they were 3-1 up with 3 BPs in the second but Zvonareva & Husarova came back and they won 3 deuce points in their second set comeback and it seemed they had all the momentum goinginto the Supertiebreak but Daniela & Arantxa steeled themselves, got the early lead and used the momentum to dominate the Supertiebreak winning the last 6 points. Daniela's got something out of Indian Wells as she could do with a win and some matches to get her confidence and rhythm back and a run in doubles would be very nice.

We now hold our breath and see how Dani's knee feels after a 2 match day.

Azarenka lost so Daniela's section of course is now wide ope. Such a shame she couldn't get past Lepchenko....

It seems like Azarenka wasn't fully fit either although Davis is a good young player.

Daniela & Arantxa play Dellacqua & Barty next in doubles which will be a tough match as they got to three slam finals last year and Barty beat Daniela in Brisbane. They beat Hingis & Lisicki which must have been Lisicki's fault. The last time Daniela played Dellacqua she won the tournament.

C'mon, eddy. You know that I know that you know that we all know that you know that Azarenka would have felt perfectly fine and played above her ranking had she faced Daniela.

Developing Story...Daniela's doubles match is today, not tomorrow, and the match preceding it is almost over.
And indeed it just ended. Daniela's start time should be roughly 4:00 PM Indian Wells time.

They started quicker than I thought. Pick it up at 1-all 1st set.

1-2 Daniela/Arantxa broken on deciding point.
1-3 Barty/Dellacqua hold to 15.
1-4 Daniela/Arantxa broken to 15.
(Maybe I would have been better off not finding out about this. :| )
1-5 Barty/Dellacqua hold to love. (I think……Livescorehunter is skipping points here and there.)
1-6 Daniela/Arantxa up 40-15, broken on deciding point.
Set lasted about 20 minutes. Yuckaroonie.

#2
0-1 Barty/Dellacqua hold to love.
:) 1-1 Daniela/Arantxa hold to 30.
1-2 Barty/Dellacqua hold to love.
1-3 Daniela/Arantxa broken to 30.
1-4 Barty/Dellacqua hold to love.
2-4 Daniela/Arantxa hold on deciding point.
2-5 Barty/Dellacqua hold to 30.
3-5 Daniela/Arantxa hold to 30.
3-6 Barty/Dellacqua hold to love.

Next partner!

Let's Go, Daniela!

This is turning into a right doing.

1-4 down in the second set and Barty & Dellacqua have won every single point on their serve.
2-4, Daniela holds to 40.
2-5, Barty/Dellacqua hold to 30. Daniela and Arantxa have won some points against the serve.
3-5, Arantxa holds to 30, was 40-0 up.
3-6, Barty/Dellacqua serve out to 0.

It's tough to know what to say about this. Barty & Dellacqua are a good team but I at least hoped this would be competitive. We'll just see who Daniela's partner is in Miami, I'd be okay with her playing with Parra Santonja again as it can take time for a partnership to click but equally I'd be fine with another partner. It's a shame that Raymond's teamed up with Zhang as Daniela was doing okay with her.

Hopefully Daniela can get some rest and recuperate for Miami, she's done better in Miami than she has in Indian Wells recently so hopefully she's fit and healthy and can get some wins. Daniela only has Madrid and her Miami 1st round win to defend between now and Birmingham so any wins she gets will boost her ranking. Let's see what Lundgren can do for her.

Barcelona lost today as well.

Davis beat Lepchenko 6-3 6-2 so I don't know what that says about Daniela's result. I didn't see it so I don't know if Davis was good or Lepchenko was bad. I was hoping that Lepchenko would get to match point before being devoured by a pack of rabid coyotes that wandered on court but she just lost. Probably did get any free points from the umpire this time.

If Daniela had won she'd have had Davis then Dellacqua so it would have been a great chance for a run. Dellacqua beat Vinci so Dellacqua's playing well right now so maybe the doubles result isn't too bad. I am clutching at straws. Hopefully Daniela will be a lot fitter and healthier for Miami.

Rabid coyotes!?

We don't have to disparage Lepchenko. Her 370 wins-0 titles says plenty enough!

And coming off the injury when she really hasn't been in good form all year, a win and how far Dani could have gone here were just not realistic. We often are grasping at straws, and that's right about when Daniela takes us on a breathtaking joyous ride, historically.

FYI...On March 22 in New York City there is a large baseball memorabilia exhibition. The biggest star attending will be recently retired New York Yankee great Mariano Rivera. To get his autograph at this show, you pay $299 US. That's not a typo or a misplaced decimal point. $299! Better still, should you want the autograph personalized (you know, Best Wishes or To Benji), that's an extra $99 US. What a country! I have 3 autographs from Daniela (probably some of you have many more). They didn't cost me a cent, and I even got a smile. Some professional athletes do still have class.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Shazza lost so no active player's won this more than Daniela and Ivanovic lost she she can't tie Daniela for wins.

You're a Mets fan, Alex. Martina Navratilova is incredibly grumpy when she gets asked for an autograph and even grumpier when wished good luck before a match.
