1st set:

0-1, Daniela broken on Lepchenko's 2nd BP. Daniela had a GP, saved the 1st BP with an ace.
1-1, Daniela breaks back to 15.

Daniela is going apeshit at the umpire right now. She's been screwed out of a point, she did a drop shot that bounced twice, Lepchenko bounced it into the ground and over the net and Daniela hit the ball out. The umpire said she didn't call it and gives the point to Lepchenko. Shockingly bad call to go to 15-15. Daniela got a code violation on the next point. Umpire's a Pole called Simpula (Sp?).

1-2, Daniela broken, she had a GP but lost the next 3 points.
1-3, Lepchenko holds to 15.
2-3, Daniela holds to 30.
2-4, Lepchenko holds to 0 & Daniela's out of challenges.
2-5, Daniela saves 2 BPs to get to deuce but Lepchenko wins the next 2 points.
3-5, Daniela breaks to deuce.
3-6, Daniela broken to 15.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Lepchenko playing amazing. Daniela moving quite well but can't handle weight of Lepchenko's shots...if I was Daniela I wouldn't shake Lepchenkos hand after this whatever the result.

Lundgren's pretty pro-active in the advice he's giving Daniela. Let's hope Daniela can act on it. She's won the first two points of the second set.

2nd set:

1-0, Daniela breaks to 0.
1-1, Daniela broken to 30 after a DF on BP.
1-2, Lepchenko holds to 30.
1-3, Daniela broken to 30, She dumped a smash into the net on BP and made errors earlier in the game. She's not playing well while Lepchenko is.
2-3, Daniela breaks to 15, her best game for a while and she won a long rally at 15-30. Absolutely crucial that Daniela holds next game.
2-4, Daniela broken to 15. She can't hold serve at all while Lepchenko hit a couple of no fucking way winners to get to 0-30.
2-5, Lepchenko holds to 30. Daniela's going to need one of her greatest ever comebacks to pull this one out of the bag.
2-6, Daniela broken to 30.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Thanks, Chungwit, but my Kindle won't let me get into them. Maybe that's just as well. With all the s--t that has happened to Dani here since 2007, why does she keep saying this is her favorite tourney? Can only hope she can hold serve a couple of times and make this a Daniela-thon.

Let's Go, Daniela!

And Daniela can't serve for toffee..

All in all a nightmare match, hope Lepchenko doens't win another match all year after her cheating.

Nothing went right for Daniela, maybe came back one tournament too soon in retrospect...some nice winners but serve was dire...

That was depressing. Daniela's serve was terrible, she only held serve once and she made so many errors. Lepchenko played well, she hit a lot of good shots and so many no fucking way shots. It is surprising how a journeywomen can become so much stronger in her mid 20s.

The turning point was that drop shot in the third game of the match which so clearly bounced twice and Lepchenko hit the ball into the ground on her pick up but Lepchenko wins the point. The umpire was pathetic "I didn't call the point" and Lepchenko is happy to steal the point. They can both fuck off and eat shit.

We'll just see what happen in the doubles. A run there would give Daniela something to take from this tournament and give her some match practice.

Nah the sooner she gets to Miami the better to train IMO...

Agreed. Daniela practices all the time and the serve gets no better. Right now it's at Limbo Rock/Mariana Trench level. She hasn't made any kind of a run in any tourney in months. A few actual matches before Miami couldn't hurt.

Got to give a shout out to one of Daniela's thousands of besties and an long-time favorite of mine, Lindsay Davenport, for her induction into the Int. Tennis Hall Of Fame. Extremely deserved. Now if the selection committee would finally awaken and put Kerry Reid in..... :?

Let's Go, Daniela!
