Either Stosur or Bouchard will win Osaka pushing Daniela down another spot in the Sofia race. This means. Daniela needs an awesome display here in Moscow to guarantee her spot.

Daniela's got a qualifier in the first round then it's either Halep or Cibulkova in the 2nd round.

Daniela's playing doubles with Elena Vesnina, they're seeded 1 and they start with Beygelzimer & Dolonc.

They play third after two singles matches on Court 1 with play starting at 11 am tomorrow.

My memory is that before the Hingis experiment, Daniela was supposed to play with a couple of the best doubles players and got a #1 seed and never even played a match due to withdrawals. Maybe the third time will be the charm.
I think I have it figured out. Ever since my Contacting Daniela post reached 199 views, she lost the three straight first rounders. If only a 200th person would view the post, that would solve everything!

Let's Go, Daniela!

Daniela was going to play with Lucie Hradecka in Strasbourg but she withdrew and she was going to play with Andrea Hlavackova in S'Hertogenbosch but she withdrew again. Daniela also played with Hsieh in Birmingham and won their match before Hsieh withdrew. So Vesnina going to be the fourth player who's won a doubles slam this year that Daniela's teamed up with.
I wonder how Daniela could have done this year in doubles with a better longterm partner because she didn't do anything with Medina Garrigues and Medina Garrigues has been terrible this year and the Hingis partnership fizzled out. Daniela's done reasonably well with Lisa Raymond and she played well with Srebotnik in Brisbane before she got injured there. Daniela also had a good win at Wimbledon before Kirilenko quit. Good doubles players want to play with Daniela and it shows the respect she has from her fellow players. The last time she had a good longterm doubles partner was with Agnieszka Radwanska in 2011 and they won Miami. Daniela can do well in doubles with a good partner and this partnership with Vesnina is a chance to see how well.

I got the 200th viewer! Nothing's gonna stop her now! :D
Thanks for the recap on Daniela doubles, Chungwit. Hsieh I don't really count because she withdrew to help Dani out after she'd won Birmingham and the doubles had been so screwed up by rainouts that they faced potentially three matches that same day. I totally agree it's a sign of respect. I just want one of these to work out so that Daniela can end the year with the sweetly round numbers of 10 doubles titles and 20 overall titles.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Daniela's got Arantxa Parra Santonja in the first round. Kerber's been causing changes in the draw again this week as she's withdrawn so Daniela will get the winner of Cibulkova and Dolonc in the second round, but Daniela has to get past Parra Santonja first.

Daniela's the fifth match on Court 1 with play starting at 11 am.

Annoying they changed court as there's a stream for court 1 and not court 2.

As long as they win I'm happy..

Very solid win 75 63, already liking this partnership!

Next up will be Zakapolova+Husarova

Daniela & Elena hold to 0 to go 3-1 up in the 2nd set.
3-2, Dolonc/Beygelzimer hold from 30-40
4-2, Daniela & Elena hold from 30-40.
4-3, Dolonc/Beygelzimer hold to 30.
5-3, Daniela holds to 0 & serves an ace on GP.
6-3, Daniela & Elena break to 30, winning on their 2nd MP.

A good win in doubles. The first set was close but Daniela & Elena were able to come through it and they were fairly comfortable in the second set. They were under a wee bit of pressure on Elena's serve in the sixth game having to save 2 BPs but they were mainly comfortable on serve in the second and were able to put pressure on Beygelzimer & Dolonc's serve pretty much every game and were able to break them for the match. It's encouraging that Daniela held her last two service games in the match to 0.

It's a good win and a run in doubles would be great.

Thanks for the extra details, Chungwit, especially of Daniela's sharp serving late in the match. That's always good to see.
You know, If this ends up being the partnership that clicks for Dani and I'm gonna post the scores as they happen, I might want to spell Elena's name correctly! My apologies.

It's a nice win in the doubles and it gives Daniela a chance to get used to the court and what the conditions are like. It's not ideal that Daniela's the last match on and could be waiting around all day and I wouldn't be shocked if there was a court change but it's the same for both players.
Parra Santonja beat Vania King in qualifying and she beat Bouchard in Bogota and they're her best wins this year. She's still got to be respected but I really feel that this match will be decided by how well Daniela plays.

I started doing the livescores because your post hadn't updated since the end of the first set and it said I was the only user on the forum, Alex. Of course when I start, you're back and your livescores had updated but by that time I'd started so I might as well finish. Thanks for livescoring the entire match, Alex.

I think that we can safely say that unless Daniela wins Moscow she will not get her ranking high enough to qualify by right for Sofia. As Pavlyuchenkova and Vesnina will now play Sofia.

Daniela bt Santonja 61 62 in exactly 1 hour, very nice. Only lost 9 points on her serve the whole match and didn't have to save a break point.

They showed her coach on the screen at the end of the match, no idea who it was but he looks like a younger Claudio...yikes!
