according to my stats, the quality is better in this set: 15 winners to 16 UEs from Daniela. Also IMO the rallies are betterTruth, 1st set was not pretty at all. Overall I am disappointed that Daniela reverted to her previous not as aggressive return. It seems the way she was returning in Fed Cup and Paris didn't have any longevity.

Yes! Daniela finished well, so we can take some positives into tomorrow. She will likely need to be better to beat Bammer, though. Good night, everyone.

Good night!

And congratulations for Daniela's victory!! Okay, Benji, I decided to analyze Daniela's game tonight since I'm usually just swooning over her presence. I was really satisfied with her game. She was pounding the ball deep and putting a lot of placement on her shots, especially with her forehand. She was spitting out drop shots like crazy and made many unforced errors, but she won the match so I'm just glad. It was good to see she had the confidence to come to the net and finish with volleys and smashes. This was my first time seeing Daniela playing singles since Australian Open.

Never said you couldn't admire her beauty Jonathan! For me she is always most beautiful on the tennis court and her graceful game is a large part of that.

Daniela at the net makes benji a happy boy.

Bammer is a grinder extraordinaire so Daniela is going to have to be patient tonight. on the plus side she's not a power player so Daniela should be able to move into court and dictate rallies.

Oh, I can't believe I forgot to mention this, but it was good having Lindsay Davenport on guest commentary; someone with whom Daniela is familiar. Any way, Benji, I try not to swoon over Daniela during her matches because she makes my heart race. ;)

Did Linds say something about Daniela? :)

Yes, she did! She was on board throughout the entire match and she gave some compliments for Daniela. She mentioned a few different things; Daniela is lacking some confidence, Daniela's swings are very smooth and pretty, Daniela is fighting back from foot problems, etc. Lindsay was just really polite.

Good to hear about Lindsay. Some idiot on another board said that Lindsay was bagging on Daniela, calling her career a disappointment and that she wasn't a top player. It would be unlike Lindsay to be so cruel.

Well, the last time Daniela won 3 in a row was Indian Wells 2008, right ?
I believe it’s time to repeat it now. Of course, Bammer is superior player
to Wickmayer and Cetkovska. I think it’s a 50 - 50 match, it can go either way....

I followed the live score, but from what i get from the posts, Daniela won
in a not convincing way. This is probably true but honestly, right now i dont care.
What matters in this part of the season (and Daniela’s career) is winning, so that
Daniela will climb again at the rankings. Good form will come with the pass of time and
the tournaments - maybe i sound a little bit naive, but that’s what i hope will happen....

So, after Bammer it’s Ivanovic or Pennetta.
Personally, i would prefer Flavia...ok, i stop it right here.
First Bammer and then we’ll see.

I am so happy for this win. I was at work and could only check the scoreboard every now and then; and everytime I checked, Daniela was down a break. What a pleasant feeling when I checked the score again, and she had won, and plus I avoided all the tension and drama that ALWAYS comes with her matches.

Please please PLEASE win tomorrow and finally win 3 matches in a row!!!

Once again i couldn't watched the match (although, i think all my outlets for watching the tennis had the mens games on). This time because i had uni.

Anyone going to upload the match?

Bammer is an opponent i would fully expect Daniela to beat. Hopefully she keeps fighting.

Bahriahn posted the link already:

I haven't got to say much about the match since I was sleeping, but as all of you I'm very happy and was able to begin my day with a smile :D
