Argentine Gaston Gaudio is back in action this week, playing doubles at the Sony Ericsson Open alongside Nicolas Lapentti. The pair got a wildcard into the event and will play the sixth seeds Bruno Soares and Kevin Ullyett in the opening round.

Great line-up. All top 8 seeded but Simon made the QF's. Tsonga is a good compensation for him.

I think Murray has a much better chance of beating Nadal this week, who has had some very tough matches, whilst Murray has largely cruised through to this stage.
On the other side of the draw I think Tsonga has a good chance of beating Djokovic once again, but I don't see Roddick beating Federer. I seems likely that the Swiss will make the final this year.
A dissapointing scoreline for qualifier Dent. It was a great run from the American but a shame he missed 8 break point opportunities in that first set (many of which came in a single game). If he had taken one of them maybe that first set, and perhaps even the match, would have been tighter. A very good week irrespective though, particularly since he came through qualifying and won three matches in the main draw.

Oh, God, Federer. That was the worst I've ever seen him play in the third set against Djokovic. He made way too many double faults and forehand errors. Federer's serve was broken SIX times. I thought he was a clear winner this time around since Djokovic was having so much trouble with his fitness, but this was just crazy. Roger is as human as the rest of us, so I won't be too hard on him.

Djokovic defeats Federer: 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Being a double break up in the final set is no guarantee of victory in Miami.

Federer :o It's just astonishing how often he's just crumbled away this year. Djokovic did well to dig in but Federer lost this one pretty badly.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

I'm so proud of Frederico Gil right now :)
He's playing sooo good and already booked his place in the QF of Casablanca defeating Ljubicic .
I'm going to Estoril again this year and I would love to see him lifting the trophy :)

Roger has been given a wildcard into Monte-Carlo so will attempt to defend his points there, but yes, he will lose his points from Estoril 2008.

I'm so happy for both, Ferrero and Hewitt, that they finally won another tournament. Was a tough time for them during the last years.
Hope they come back to the top.

Gonzales and Chardy currently have to play in an almost empty stadium in Rome due to the rain today

And it's also very cold there (13 °C), you can even see the players' breath!!
not the best conditions to play tennis :?
