This Shvedova Golden Set thing is unfathomable, especially since we know how good Errani is and the form she was in. And we complain about how much over their heads some of Dani's opponents play!

Apparently that was only the second ever golden set in tennis history, the other was only 1983. It's astonishing that Shvedova's the first woman to do that, especially as Navratilova and Graf must have faced some pretty bad players in their day.

Wow, that German QF between Lisicki and Kerber was impressive! I rootet for Sabine, but Kerber really deserves reaching the semis!
Second year in a row with a German in the last 4, maybe that brings Wimbledon back on German TV in the next years.. :?

Was laughing so hard at Angie's reaction to her successful Hawkeye challenge late in that 3rd set. You knew she was going to win after that-all the negative energy she had been carrying around just dissipated immediately. :)

Can't believe Germany doesn't show Wimbledon after all of Becker and Graf's heroics. The German men are doing their bit too(Mayer and Kohlschreiber in the QF)so it's high time the TV channels got their act together.

Wimbledon's on Sky Deutschland in Germany so you have to pay Rupert Murdoch to watch it.

that was a cute reaction and it displayed how much pressure she had.
She couldn't convert about 5 match points to win the Eastbourne title, and was about to repeat the story..

I really hope she wins the title! There are still some hurdles of course, but I think it't possible :)

haha, Becker and Graf are almost forgotten. Only yellow press reports from time to time about Boris' new girl friends..

Minimum amount if you want to watch Wimby: 224€
(plus you get tons of damn football, but no extra tennis)

Daniela started a Slovak tradition by jumping in the pool after winning Pattaya because whenever a Slovakian wins a tournament they celebrate by jumping in a pool.

We never got to see Daniela jump in the pool in Pattaya. I hope she spends a lot of time getting wet over the next few years.

Caroline Wozniacki's man had a much better day then she did. Rory McIlroy won the USPGA by 8 shots, while Wozniacki just lost to Kvitova.

I'm going to guess that this is far from original, but after taking note of Serena's double slamming of the racket vs. Kerber, and from her past history, is there anything serere about Serena :?:

Daniela beats Li at Olympics and then the next two weeks Li reaches final of Montreal and wins Cincinnati.

I don't understand the WTA, it infuriates me!

That shows what a good coach can do for someone.

Talking about coaches, I wonder how long Daniela's going to keep Pistolesi. I know that she's coming back from injury but her recent record under him hasn't been good and in recent years she's gotten rid of coaches when she's had better results and been in better form than right now. I don't suppose Daniela will make a permanent change until after the US Open but unless her form and results pick up she's going to have to. Daniela's best recent tournament was the Olympics and she mainly worked with Liptak there and she worked with Darren Cahill in Cincinnati. I feel Daniela made a mistake splitting from Liptak.

Yeah, Eddy. Ain't it a shame Dani didn't reach either of those finals. It may have been her 1st back-to-back titles ever!
Oh, by the way, now we know that she roots for the New York Rangers!!

Kim Clijsters lost to Laura Robson, so that Kim's singles career over. I've got to admit that I did shed a tear or two when she lost and I'll miss her. Robson played very well and she deserved the win. She started working with Zlelko Krajan recently. It's amazing the difference a good coach can make.
