Caroline's success is really good for tennis in Denmark. Danish TV bought the rights to her final and showed it lived at 4 in the morning and then again later, I think at 11. In her blog (she is really good at remembering to write) she gets a lot of answers/comments and I've noticed a lot of them often say, I know nothing about tennis but I still got up to watch you play. Hopefully, the popularity of tennis will grow as she keeps winning and more tennis be shown |

Wow ! Wozniacki v Chakvetadze 2-6 6-1 6-4. It takes a lot to return from 2-6 against #12, let alone the fact that Anna was playing in front of Russian crowd. Well done Caroline. Petrova will be next, unless of course Lapushchenkova upsets her. |

Petrova won 62 61 so it will be her in the 2nd round. An important match for Caro. If she wins she will have the same amount of points as Petrova, and Caro said that her goal this year was to enter the top20, but since it happened a lot quicker than expected, her new goal is to be one of the two alternates for the YEC. Petrova is ranked just above Caro in the Race and a victory over Petrova will put Caro ahead. Also Petrova will go ahead of Danka with a victory unless Danka also wins her second round match. |

I read something like upper respiratory problems. Don't think it is serious. At first I was afraid it had something to do with the thigh injury she got in her first round match. That would have been worse. |

Caro just finished her fourth WTA final of the year (and of her career). It was a great battle against Dementieva. Caro was really strong in the first set, winning it 6-2. Dementieva begun being more aggressive in the second and broke Caro in the very first service game of the second set. It was the only break in the entire second set so Dementieva won the second set 6-4. More breaks in the 3rd set. Caro breaks first and leads 2-0. Dementieva breaks back to 2-2 and also gets a crucial break to 6-5 and the chance to serve for the match. Dementieva holds mp at 6-5 40-30, but Caro wins that point and the game. 3rd set thus ended in a tie-break. Unfortunately for Caro, she lost 7-4. Dementieva was good in the tie-break. Caro looked so exhausted after the match. She had a long year. But congratz to her for giving Dementieva such a close match. Hopefully Caro will break the top10 soon. She will jump to a career high of 13 tomorrow and when Chakvetadze loses her YEC 2007 points, Caro will advance to 12 |
