if dementieva won and safina won in the next match it would be an all russian semis.. but dementieva already lost
im pretty sure a russian will win this tournament

Ivanovic loses once again, in her first match in Tokyo. Not looking good for the former world number 1, losing to Russian Nadia Petrova in three sets (1-6 6-1 2-6). So now either Petrova or Radwanska will be a semi-finalist. With the amount of points up for grabs this could really affect the rankings and Race to the Championships since Radwanska is still in the hunt for a spot. |

well I think Radwanska will qualify. She is currently number 9, but Sharapova won't play. She is out for the rest of the year. And I don't see any of the people below her all of a sudden doing better. |

After her injury, Ivanovic is completley out of form. No good times at the moment for the AO semifinalist (Daniela), the finalist (Ana) and the champion (Maria). |

Jankovic V Kuznetzova 6 - 2, 5 - 7, 1 - 1.... What a game that is, i wish i could watch it live rather than sitting on an office desk. It could be easily the final game of the tournament. Yet, it is only a 1/8 final. I guess that proves the high level of this tournament... |

I don't know, but Srebotnik seems really strong at the moment IMO. Maybe a qualifier to win the title? |

I think Srebotnik being a qualifier certainly has helped her a little bit by giving her some more matches on the surface but the wins that she has had in the main draw are phenomenal brushing aside everything thats been in her way Scott |
