Like you said chungwit, what a difference a coach can make. Under McClaren we were just short of awful, but under Capello, despite the critics he got during the friendlies we played has a 100% record, the best record of any England side for over 30 years and now the critics have nothing to say. Its a little premature to start thinking about the world cup already but with a 5 point lead after just 4 games, and 3 wins from 3 away from home, I think it can be forgiven

Post subject:  Re: 2010 World Cup - Qualifiers

Slovakia are just a point away from the finals after beating Northern Ireland 2-0.

Maradona's going to get the sack, beaten at home by Brazil now Argentina's losing away to Paraguay and Veron's just been sent off.
Edit: Martin Palermo's on as a sub for Kun Ageuro. Well, you do need a penalty specialist.
Edit again: when you're losing away from home, bringing on a 36 year old central defender for their debut is the way to save the day.
Edit: These guys nearly combined for an equaliser in injury time, but codger Schiavi is centimetres away from putting the ball in.
Full time, 1-0 Paraguay, who qualify for South Africa. Argentina are out of an automatic qualification place and are away to Uruguay who are only a point behind. With the players Argentina have they should be qualifying easily, but most of the time they're not even in the squad: Higuain, Riquelme, or there is constant changing of players and there's the tactics. It is not good. It pains me a lot to say this, but Maradona is Nigel Sears standard when it comes to coaching. Maybe that's a little harsh, but Diego's not doing well.

Maradona was pleased and probably very tired and emotional afterwards:

Argentina are going to be utterly compelling while Maradona's coach because no one has any clue what will happen next, especially Diego.
