Ahh, too bad. Thanks The NBA actually issued a statement today stating that Barry was fouled and should have received two shots (the foul was just before he began to shoot the three, I guess). Lots of good it does the Spurs now. On the positive side, the Celtics won a heck of a game earlier tonight...

And the Spurs are finished this season. I heard there was some controversy at the end, can someone clarify? Brent Barry, who had a hell of a game, missed a three at the buzzer that would have won the game. He was, by the letter of the law, fouled by Derek Fisher on the shot. Even the Spurs did not ...

to be honest after the last interview,i have doubts for wimbledon afterall the heel issue is much more worse than we had thought Everyone must pay the price for being stubborn and careless, Daniela will be lucky to play the Olympics imo. The Fed Cup doctor projected 6-9 weeks for recovery, it's cur...

I'm sure she's making the right decision. I could see her mistakenly coming back too early but in no way could I see her coming back too late. Still, it's sad given how hard we know she works and how much we all enjoy watching her, especially at Grand Slams. With these two weeks about to go by, it w...

^^I was only 12 but I attended the Italy-Nigeria match at World Cup 1994. Fun time, even for someone who had never seen a soccer match on TV prior to that year. As an American, I won't have much of a chance to see any of this because there's little to no coverage and the time difference means the ma...

Here is the article accompanying the latest photos in the picture thread. It's a total junk, tabloid article as the fool who wrote it stretches the truth repeatedly to try and create an image of the tour and its players not close to reality. "all eyes are drawn to a collection of blonde über-g...

If you want to feel even worse about the injury, check out the main draw for Istanbul. Daniela would have had an embarrassingly easy road to the final, just some more salt to rub in the wounds. Nothing is ever easy in tennis, especially when Daniela is involved but I do agree the draw she would of ...

The worst case scenario here would be what happened to Kournikova or Seles where they each missed about five months. Neither is a great comparison for Daniela as Seles was much older (30) and had other injuries. Kournikova's commitment to tennis and a quick recovery can be questioned. I'm a big base...

The Los Angeles Times reported today that Daniela has already committed to the Los Angeles tournament once again. It's shaping up to be a loaded field for a tier two with Jankovic, Kuznetsova, both Williams sisters and Vaidisova already in. Ivanovic, as defending champion, and Sharapova, her home to...

From her official website today: "Daniela withdraws from Istanbul Daniela will not play at Istanbul next week (19-25 may 2008). « I am very disappointed about not being able to play in Istanbul. This is a tournament that is so loved by the players. I had looked forward to coming to Istanbul and...

I take no news as good news as far as the injury goes. At this time last week she had already pulled out of Rome, ditto two weeks ago with Berlin. As far as the pictures, she's not bad, huh?

I'm sure she will make the sensible decision regarding Istanbul. Though that could include playing, only she and her doctor know the exact extent of her injury and when it's fair to return.

Thanks a lot for the translation. I feel I probably should know this, but she's half-Slovak? What's the other half of her ethnic background (just curious)? that was abouth Hingis (swiss) You're right. On first glance, I took it to mean "half-Slovak like me," but there's really no implicat...
