She's playing doubles with Petrova which is a surprise. A pleasant one though because that means she must feel pretty confident about her health. |

Thanks for the interview. Ever notice that her answer to the languages question always changes? Sometimes she mentions Czech or Croat and now she throws in Italian and Spanish. I know she was learning Italian but I have no idea where Spanish came from. Her coach is from Barcelona but that's all I ca... |

Here's her half of the draw: Petrova-Cibulkova (should be a good one) K. Bondarenko-Harkleroad Sugiyama-Glatch Daniela bye Bartoli-Amanmuradova Mirza-Q Peer-Q Chakvetadze-Bye She's definitely in the right half of the draw with Serena, Vera, Lindsay and Patty on the other side. Though Ai could be tou... |

It makes little difference to me as well. But, I like hantuchova-forum.com the best. Daniela is not specific enough and I think .com is preferred to .net. |

Dementieva has withdrawn, so Daniela is now the fourth seed and the recipient of a bye. do you know why she withdrew? I don't know. The source here is The Boiled Egg at WTA World who is in the know about these kind of things. There's no reason listed though and for what it's worth she's still on th... |

I figured her to take a week off after the California swing and before the Olympics especially considering Montreal is going in the other direction. I thought she may play New Haven instead (unless she went really deep at Beijing) as she's a regular there and she would probably be more inclined to p... |

I found this interesting. As of today, the most valuable offensive player in the American League (that's baseball for the Europeans) is the Texas Rangers' Ian Kinsler. Why do I find this interesting? Because last year, Kinsler suffered a stress fracture in his heel. So this just goes to show Daniela... |

Williams has no reason to withdraw so I would be fairly surpirsed if she did, particularly because both Venus and her are trying to play full calendars this year. If Serena's trying to play a full schedule, she's doing a lousy job of it as she's only played eight tournaments so far. And she's withd... |

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Williams withdrew at this point. Here's hoping because that would get her back in the top four. |

Thanks a lot, Martin. By the way, I was just kidding you in the other thread. I didn't even realize that there was such an interview. |

She'll be seeded fourth as she will pass Bartoli as of the next rankings. That means a bye and truthfully none of the players 5-8 scare me at all (that is, that I would not favor them over Daniela). Hopefully, the next 2 1/2 weeks will serve her health well. |

Daniela played just OK on balance. She had 10 winners and 19 unforced errors. But the big story here is that Kleybanova played way, way above her head for about 90% of the match. she would beat an awful lot of players with this kind of match. The power of her serves and the groundstrokes really left... |
